Advice from real brides

Looking online for wedding advice can be pretty daunting. A lot of the brides on Pinterest are perfect looking from head to toe and the stories shared on news websites are all either absolutely horrendous or a gushing celebrity wedding where every second went perfectly. But, what about real weddings? Surely little things go wrong that we need advice on?

Here at Forever&Always we gathered real brides and asked them what one piece of advice they would give to a bride-to-be that they would have loved to be told before their big day.

Indre Kennedy, 23, said: "Try not to stress about the little details and about pleasing all of your guests. Make sure your day is memorable for you and your future husband. All of the stress can cause fights at a time when it should be exciting instead. My Biggest piece of advice is to hire a filmographer and not just a photographer even though it is a significantly large expense. We saved money by just having the photographer but would love to look back on the ceremony now. Or maybe get a friend or staff member at the hotel to film for a little fee? It is just something lovely to have and to show your children one day. Most importantly relax and enjoy, everything will go as it is meant to! And if it doesn't then it is something you can laugh about when telling people about the day."

Anna Newell, 23, said: "Just do what you want to do. Plan in advance – you don’t know what will go wrong."

Rebecca Mercer, 36, said: "Invest in a good photographer!"

Louise Austen-Rose, 42, said: "Just do it the way you really want it, not the way others think it should be. You only get one shot (Hopefully!)"
